A community focused
The West Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society was created on February 1, 2005 and is registered and incorporated within the Province of British Columbia. The Society was created to raise funds for distribution to selected recipients within our Community and beyond.
We are very happy to say that more than 95% of money donated to our society goes directly to the people and organizations that we support.
Since our inception we have been able
to donate over $90,000.00!
Our work is accomplished primarily through the volunteer efforts of our OFF DUTY members. As described in our Constitution, the purposes of the Society are to operate as a charitable organization and:
a) promote education by providing scholarships, bursaries or other forms of financial assistance
b) promote the welfare of persons in financial need or distress;
c) provide funds for the purchase of medical equipment for persons who are sick.
There are 8 Local 1525 Members that serve as our Board of Directors. We meet on a monthly basis to discuss various issues, including fundraising activities and funds allocation.
